More Personal Bests at Blackminster


The new Blackminster Half Marathon proved very popular with Almost Athletes.  Mark Willicott was first home for the club in 1:34 with Karen Galpin in hot pursuit finishing in 1:36. Personal best times were recorded for John Bailey 1:37, Dominic Lyes 1:44, Jeanette Gullick 1:50, Mark Lyes in 1:53 and Helen Fursman in 1:54.

Blackminster Half
This new half marathon proved very popular with Almost Athletes.   Well organised, great support along the route and ideal running conditions made way for a fast course.   Mark Willicott was first home for the club in a very fast time of 1:34 with Karen Galpin in hot pursuit finishing minutes later in 1:36. Personal best times were recorded for John Bailey 1:37 , Dominic Lyes 1:44. Jeanette Gullick sliced an amazing 9minutes off her last half marathon crossing the line in 1:50. Mark Lyes put in a strong performance in 1:53 knocking 5minutes of his pb whilst Helen Fursman continued with her good form and recorded a pb in 1:54.

Bath Half
New club member Abdul Smith attempted his first half marathon and clocked an amazing 1:32.  Nick Spice was strong in 1:42 and finishing in quick succession was Conrad Bourne in 1:43 and Paul Thomas in 1:45. Peter Haken was impressive and  reached his sub 2 hour target . Glenda Jackson the only lady running with club colours finished in 2:04
