With a number of marathons just round the corner the Gloucester 20  was perfect for those in training. First home for the club was Chris Midgley, training for Edinburgh marathon he finished strongly in 2:21:22, Dale Midwinter had a good race and finished in 2:22:02. , Ingrid Harris was 3rd LV45  also breaking the club record for 20 miles by almost six minutes and finished in a fast time of 2:32.. Seconds after was clubs Michelle Carroll who was 4th LV40 and knocked a whopping 17 minutes off the LV40 club record for 20 miles.  Karen Galpin improved her time for the distance and added on a few extra miles  as part of her Comrades training .  Eddie Munro also training for Edinburgh put in a strong performance in 2:45 .  In preparation for Brighton marathon next month was club member  Kirsty Ellison who  was impressive in 2:52.   Mark Lyes, also heading south next month  was very pleased with his first ever attempt at 20 miles  and crossed the line in 3:01 .  Alison Hume  knocked four minutes off her PB and is now on course for Boston marathon next month.

Chedworth 10mile
Holding the Chedworth Roman Trail on the same day as Mother's Day and the Gloucester 20 meant that the race had a smaller field than usual.  This undulating course with muddy farm tracks, grass footpaths, hardpacked stone trails taking you  through woods and a river crossing proved a  good test of endurance for runners.  This year the weather was kind , little wind and chilly, with a good selection of AAs turning out, all  put in  fine performances. Dave McGrath was first home for the club in 1:06 closely followed by Edward Collier who finished 1st in his category.  A magnificent performance by clubs Claire Hawes in 1:46 and finishing 3rd in her category.

Rhayder 5 mile
A handful of Almosts were spoilt with wonderful scenery this weekend and travelled to Rhayder, Wales . Jeanette Gullick continued with her fine form and was first back for the club in a very fast time of 37:46, Paul Turner crossed the finish seconds later in 37:58, Sarah Wallbridge 43:03 and Aggie Lee 47:19.

Paris Half Marathon
Rachel Barber completed in 2:01:43
